- “When a customer types in “twinpalms phuket” in a search box they need to find our site before they find the portals”

Challenge
- An attractive website developed entirely in flash. In flash the site was never going to be found by the search engines.
- The hotel owner had invested a significant amount of time and budget and loved the look and feel of the site. Starting again was not an option.
Solution
- In the background we developed a complete HTML site purely for the search engines. Once the user clicked on any page they were taken into the flash site.
- We used clever HTML techniques to reflect as much as possible the look and feel of the flash site and of course made the site entirely search engine friendly.
- When the flash site was updated with a new design we took the opportunity to influence the new design structure and ensured many new areas of the site were in html.
Results
- Twinpalms Phuket has kept their visually impressive flash website, but has also been able to be search engine friendly.
- The number of visitors via search engines has increased by over 10%
- The number of visitors who have found the site by searching on keywords other than the hotel name has increased by 75% from when we originally benchmarked the site
- Twinpalms Phuket now has a presence on the search engines for their target market.
- Twinpalms Phuket felt confident enough of their position they changed their hotel booking engine from one supplied by a major portal to another provider and by doing so made significant savings on agency commissions.
- Whilst the flash site is still the default website, Twinpalms Phuket were so pleased with the result they now have a button on the flash site giving visitors the option to stay in the html site.
